Guadalupe · Piñeiro · Cadórniga
A research tree from published genealogies and transcriptions. The original manuscripts have not been checked. Isabel’s parentage is inferred; the link from Fernán to the royal physician is disputed. The apothecary in the family genealogy and Felipe’s master in 1564 remain separate candidate identities. The apprenticeship is a professional link, not kinship. The Puga–Araújo continuation remains a research lead.

Accounts disagree on whether Fernán was the royal physician’s son or brother. Neither relationship is drawn as an established link; the physician’s parents are also left open.
The published 1592 certificate calls Antonio de Novoa a legitimate son of the named physician. This historical claim conflicts with the childless-physician reconstruction; the dashed parent link represents the disputed claim only.
The published-family apothecary and the 1564 master share name, occupation and Ourense. Their identification is a candidate; both source occurrences remain separate, with no automatic transfer of relatives.
The six-child list does not by itself assign a mother to every child. The chart attaches Violante only to Pedro and Jerónimo, explicitly linked to her in the scholarly study. Other mother slots remain open.
The proposed Puga–Araújo continuation names Pedro’s mother Elvira, conflicting with Violante in the scholarly study. The two Pedros are not merged and no continuation to Espinosa Sotelo is drawn.
The published transcription explicitly calls the apprentice Felipe the son of Francisco Álvarez, resident of Tamaguelos. This is filiation within the 1564 record, not proof of the later Felipe’s identity.
Felipe was apprenticed to Antonio López de Guadalupe for five years and one month from 7 November 1564, before notary Gómez Cid. This is a professional relationship and establishes no kinship.

Miguel Ángel González García, “Datos menores para la historia de la provincia y diócesis de Ourense (II),” Diversarum Rerum 8 (2013), pp. 361–378. The apprenticeship is transcribed on pp. 363–364 (PDF pp. 353–354), citing AHDOURENSE PT12, folios 407–408. The published transcription was checked; the original manuscript was not inspected. It names the apprentice’s father but does not identify the apprentice with the later Ribadavia apothecary.

Diversarum Rerum 8, pp. 227–228: Pedro, applicant to San Jerónimo in 1578, and his brother Jerónimo are associated with Antonio López Guadalupe and Violante Díaz de Cadórniga. The burial identification discussed in the article is a separate hypothesis.

Breogán Amoedo, Geneanet family tree, Antonio López Guadalupe profile · consulted 26 October 2026
The publicly visible Antonio profile names Elvira as wife and Pedro as son. This conflicts with the scholarly study’s Violante. It is an online research lead, not proof of identity or the proposed later continuation.
