A 1640s fiscal suit brought by the assignee of Fernando Álvarez de Morais’s children, embedding their 1608–1612 dowry claim against his confiscated estate. All 250 images have a working transcription with gaps, but the images holding the kinship passages are not currently retained alongside it and must be checked again on PARES; every relationship read from this file is therefore a candidate.
The 1604 dowry deed reads “Fernando Álvarez de Morays, [illegible] hijo de Al[ons]o de Morais”, and a 1609 statement calls him “hijo de Al[ons]o de Morais”.
Fernando states that he was married to Bárbara Enríquez, by then dead; the curator’s petition calls her his wife.
Fernando names Mariana, under five, as his and Bárbara’s lawful daughter.
Fernando names Gerónimo, under four, as his and Bárbara’s lawful son.
Bárbara is named as Mariana’s mother in 1608 and in the heirs’ later powers.

A 1605 receipt calls Enrique Coronel Fernando’s “tío”. As Bárbara’s brother-in-law he was an uncle by marriage at most; the word is not explained.
The heirs’ powers call Mariana the wife, and later the widow, of Alonso Álvarez.
Ysabel de Morais, reconciled, is called the wife of the late notary Antonio Fernández Sossa.
Estévez Pérez (2017) makes Fernando Álvarez el mozo, with the same wife and children, a son of Felipe Álvarez; this file twice calls him the son of Alonso de Morais. The conflict is unresolved, and the 1608 list keeps Felipe’s son Fernando Méndez separate.
Alonso de Morais may be the Alonso Rodríguez de Morais whose memory was tried in 1609. If so, Fernando el moço and the councillor Xerónimo de Morais were brothers despite some thirty years between them; nothing in either source joins them.
Ysabel de Morais, reconciled widow of the notary Antonio Fernández Sossa, closely matches Isabel de Morais, widow of the scribe Antonio de Sousa, sentenced in 1609.
