Regional families

Pimentel – Enríquez – Lemos

One regional research tree with separate branches. The case names Luis de Armada Pimentel, his wife Mariana, the dean Gonzalo and the presbyter Carlos. Their bridge to Diego is unknown. The advocate’s parentage allegations remain allegations. The published pedigree reports Carlos Suárez de Deza and Apolonia’s marriage in 1647; its original records have not been examined. It is not proved that these people are the case’s Carlos, Polonia and Diego, or the founders “Carlos y Polonia de Lemos”. The two generations named Diego remain distinct. Conflicting dates and a Pedro/Carlos discrepancy are recorded in the notes. No connection to our personal Álvarez tree is established.

Unresolved reading

Candidate

Proposed match for drawing the published family from the litigation person; the source identities remain separate and identification is unproved.

Unresolved reading

The lawyer alleges Diego’s legitimate eldest-son status; no genealogical judgment is certified. The catalogue’s founders “Carlos y Polonia de Lemos” are not securely identified with his alleged parents. No demonstrated family bridge joins Diego to Luis, Mariana, the dean or the presbyter Carlos. Older Diego, Apolonia’s father in the published pedigree, is a separate generation from her son.

Unresolved reading

Carlos’s chronology conflicts across secondary references: Lamigueiro gives a death in 1654, while the Geneall discussion reports a testament in 1675. Neither is used as his life date. The son Diego’s 1650–1725 range is explicitly attributed to Lamigueiro.

Unresolved reading

Corga 11 calls Francisco de Yebra and Petronila de Tallobe’s son Carlos a grandson of Pedro Suárez de Deza and Polonia de Yebra; Lamigueiro instead places Francisco under Carlos and Apolonia. The Pedro/Carlos discrepancy remains unresolved and does not justify merging the litigation identities.

Candidate

The 1681 litigant Gonzalo de Armada Araujo and the published study’s Gonzalo de Armada y Araujo share the distinctive office of dean and canon of Ourense and fit the 1646–1683 tenure. Their association is a candidate across sources. It establishes no family bridge to the other litigants.

Record claim

In his 1661 testament, as quoted by Hervella, Gonzalo de Armada y Araujo acknowledges Don Luis Antonio de Armada y Losada y Araúxo as his child. The mother is unnamed.

Record claim

In his 1661 testament, as quoted by Hervella, Gonzalo de Armada y Araujo acknowledges Don Francisco de Armada y Losada y Araúxo as his child. The mother is unnamed.

Unresolved reading

Six children are explicitly acknowledged in the quoted testament. Their mother or mothers are unknown. Luis Antonio is not identified with the litigant Luis de Armada Pimentel; neither Mariana de Armada nor the presbyter Carlos is attached to this branch.

Unresolved reading

Isabel de Castro, wife of Pardo de Cela: the proposed parents Pedro Álvarez Osorio and Beatriz Enríquez lack contemporary documentary proof. This Enríquez route remains disputed.

Unresolved reading

The 2000–2001 collateral Pimentel pedigree is challenged by Fernández del Hoyo’s 2007 study of the 1505 testament. Older parentage remains contested; the proposed Enríquez identification is not established.

Unresolved reading

The younger Pedro Bolaño, proposed father of Juana Osorio, and the older Pedro Bolaño, father of Fernán Díaz, are different generations and retain separate identities.

Candidate

Candidate marriage from the cited reference pedigree: Don Rodrigo Alonso Pimentel · IV conde de Benavente × Doña María Luisa Pacheco.

Unresolved reading

Identification unresolved: this proposed Ana María is not merged with María Pimentel, married to Fernán Díaz in November 1503. The image’s c.1540 father conflicts chronologically, and its Juan pedigree differs from the 1505 testament studied in 2007.

Unresolved reading

This reference branch illustrates the proposed Pimentel–Osorio–Enríquez route. Every parent and marriage link remains a candidate; cited publications and catalogue metadata supplement the upper generations. The 1503 marriage and 1505 testament prevent establishing its Juan and María as the documented couple. No image dates are assigned as life dates.

Unresolved reading

Proposed parents differ from Blanca’s husband’s 1505 testament, which names Juan Pimentel and Catalina de Porras.

Unresolved reading

The supplied trees propose this Pimentel–Osorio–Enríquez ancestry. Identification with María’s father is disputed: c.1540 conflicts with her 1503 marriage, and the 1505 testament names different parents.

Candidate

The image proposes Juana Ponce de León as Leonor de Guzmán’s mother. Salazar y Acha says the mother’s name is unknown and the Ponce identification only possible. The proposed Juana’s parents do not establish Leonor’s maternal ancestry.

Unresolved reading

She is displayed as Paloma ibn Yahya following the family correction. Salazar y Acha discusses the Paloma tradition but says Alonso’s mother’s name is unknown; her full surname and parents are not established by the cited scholarship. The family identifies her father as Gedaliah ibn Yahya; this parentage remains a family attribution.

Unresolved reading

The image proposes Juana Ponce de León as Leonor de Guzmán’s mother. Salazar y Acha says the mother’s name is unknown and the Ponce identification only possible. The proposed Juana’s parents do not establish Leonor’s maternal ancestry.

Unresolved reading

The external genealogy names Antonio de Yebra López de Mayorga and Inés Pimentel Cabeza de Vaca as parents of the older Diego, and Álvaro Vázquez Sampayo and Ana Pimentel Ribadeneira as maternal grandparents. Its author says the tree is provisional. No original record proving these links has been inspected.

González Paz’s CSIC study names Fernán Díaz de Ribadeneira and María Pimentel as parents of Ana Pimentel, wife of Álvaro Vázquez Sampayo, citing AHPO, Casa del Castro, caja 23618. It also gives Fernán’s parents and Pardo de Cela grandparents. The book was consulted through its public text reproduction; the cited manuscripts were not inspected. The older Lemos-count connection remains disputed.

The published chart supplies the two Beatriz de Castro generations, their husbands and the younger Pedro Bolaño–Francisca Osorio couple. It also repeats the traditional Lemos parentage of Isabel de Castro and an inaccurate Benavente-count attribution. Those points are qualified by the later scholarly correction and the RAMHG pedigree; the chart is not treated as proof of the whole route.

Javier Gómez de Olea y Bustinza & Pedro Moreno Meyerhoff, Los señores y marqueses de Fuentehoyuelo, Anales RAMHG VI, 2000–2001, pp. 98–99, notes 41–45

Gómez de Olea and Moreno Meyerhoff identify María Pimentel Cabeza de Vaca as daughter of Juan Rodríguez Pimentel and Blanca Cabeza de Vaca, married to Fernán Díaz in November 1503, citing RAH Salazar M-140. Their 2000–2001 collateral Pimentel pedigree is challenged by Fernández del Hoyo’s 2007 documentary study: the 1505 testament names Juan Pimentel and Catalina de Porras as Juan Rodríguez’s parents. The older ancestry is therefore contested, not a settled correction or proof of the proposed Enríquez route.

Record

Isabel de Castro · disputed Lemos parentage

Record

Lemos–Enríquez genealogy · Salazar y Acha

Jaime de Salazar y Acha, Las dinastías reales de España en la Edad Media, RAH/BOE, 2021, printed pp. 330–332

Salazar y Acha identifies Beatriz de Castro, also known as Beatriz Enríquez, as daughter of Pedro Enríquez, count of Trastámara, and Isabel de Castro; she married Pedro Álvarez Osorio in 1433. This supports that couple and her parents, not the disputed step to Pardo de Cela’s wife. Pedro Enríquez is the count, not King Pedro I. Pages 330–331 name his parents Fadrique and Constanza de Angulo, Constanza’s parents, and Isabel’s parents Álvaro de Castro and María Ponce de León.

The 1505 testament of Blanca Cabeza de Vaca’s husband names Juan Pimentel and Catalina de Porras as his parents (AHN Nobleza, Fernán Núñez, C.28 D.6). Salazar y Acha, Las dinastías reales de España en la Edad Media, RAH/BOE, pp. 280, 330–331 and 334, supports the upper royal and Enríquez ancestry.
