Inquisition & hidalgo families
Pedro Fernández el viejo, Inés and their son-in-law
Three source-local occurrences in the reviewed charges and later defence questions of AHN INQUISICIÓN,2143,Exp.6. Name expansions in brackets are uncertain. Pereyra’s wife appears under conflicting names, so she is shown only as an unnamed daughter. Witness depositions are not among the reviewed images, and no link is drawn to the Pedro Fernández of the fiscal lawsuit or to our own family. A secondary list of the 1608 auto names a Pedro Fernández “the old one” whose wife is Xinebra Vázquez; those entries are compared as candidates, not merged.

The case gives Antonio Pereyra’s wife as Isabel Fernández (charge 27), [Ysa]bel Gil (later question 38), and a niece of María Báez (charge 23). These readings are not reconciled, so she appears only as an unnamed daughter of his parents-in-law.

Later question 11 names Inés [Rodríguez?] with Pedro F[ernández?] as Pereyra’s parents-in-law, making his wife her daughter.
Later question 46 says Antonio Pereyra was imprisoned together with his wife.
The list calls Xinebra Vázquez the wife of Pedro Fernández “the old one”. The Cámara case instead names his wife as Inés [Rodríguez?]; the conflict is unresolved.
The list calls Antonio Pereira the son-in-law of a reconciled Pedro Fernández without saying which; it lists both “the old one” and “the young one”. The Cámara case names Pedro Fernández el viejo.
Both sources name a reconciled Pedro Fernández el viejo as Antonio Pereyra’s father-in-law. The sources disagree on his wife.
Both sources name Antonio Pereyra or Pereira as son-in-law of a reconciled Pedro Fernández.
